Has anyone ever done some research into the reasons for any major appliance failure, such as the fridge, freezer, dish washer or, in our recent case, the boiler in charge for heating and warm water, only ever fails on a long weekend?
It’s hexed, and requires paying even more money for a man in the know to come, see the part, declare it dead, and charge a fine bank holiday premium for the pleasure.
I agree with the unfortunate diagnosis, but fail to understand why this never ever happens on a weekday morning.
Oh well. Cold showers for the next few days. Might make us stronger unless it kills. New system is due for installation next Thursday.
